2019 – 2021

Nolite te bastardes carborundorum is a series of oil paintings produced between 2019 and 2021 on small, irregularly cut pieces of canvas. Built through heavy impasto, each portrait is formed through texture rather than facial features, using raised paint to carry likeness, memory, and presence where identity is often stripped away. The subjects range from public figures such as Dr. Peter Frankl to the artist’s friends and family, creating a constellation of endurance that refuses the “faceless” fate imposed by political power systems.
