As the sole product designer behind Canva Dream Lab, I shaped the end-to-end experience that introduced a new way for users to explore AI powered creative experiments inside Canva. From early concepting and interaction architecture to the visual system, UI flows, and narrative framing, I designed Dream Lab as a playful but strategic space for testing emerging generative tools before they reached the main product. Working closely with the Leonardo.Ai team and key Canva stakeholders, I built an experience that showcased speculative features, encouraged creative exploration, and helped define how AI could live inside Canva’s ecosystem. After launch, I handed the full system over to Canva’s internal teams, where Dream Lab ultimately evolved into Canva AI in 2025, becoming the foundation for the company’s new AI identity and feature suite.
